In 2016, Noosa Council embarked on an ambitious strategic planning exercise. Unlike many Councils who plan in five-year increments, Noosa Council wanted to take a longer term view – 20 years plus. Such a forward-looking approach meant that we needed to be guided by a skilled, thoughtful and focused practitioner who could make sure we achieved something tangible that would guide both the current and future Councils.
Steve Gould played such an important role for our Council in that process. He bought the right combination of challenge, inspiration and perspiration to our workshops that was well received by both our elected representatives and senior executives. He helped shape the right conversations and created an environment where we were able to define our new vision, together with a deeper understanding of our need to articulate the Noosa story. In addition to his obviously high intellect, Steve facilitated our workshops with a style that absolutely suited the audience to encourage meaningful interactions and creative thinking. As Chief Executive Officer, I could not have been more pleased with my selection of Steve Gould as our futurist to facilitate the development of our new corporate plan. We would not have achieved such an excellent outcome without him.
